my first talk!

my favorite is aj in the corner looking very despondent.

a couple highlights...

my father-in-law said everything went great until i pulled a knife on the congregation. (it was an illustrative aid and only had a 2 inch blade. i married into a very dramatic family. ;-P ...)

the boston grandkids have taken to calling me "pastor noah" for some strange reason.

sherry and brittani drove all night from hot-lanta to check out my talk. my wife says they must love me or something.

weekend funnies

last weekend was harrison and nick's anniversary party.

i got to see my cousin, aaron and his new wife lindsey.

i jokingly shared a brief story with them about how monica and i were discussing their marriage and how we both still can't figure out what he did to get her.

aaron agreed, of course and then shared this little nugget...

"check this out," he related, "lindsey and i were on the computer and we decided to take an online IQ test.

"i scored a 110, which is normal, and she scored a 130.

"so then she was all, 'ooooh, so who's the smart one in this marriage? oh, yeah!'

"and i was just like, 'at least i married up. you're the one who married the dummy. so who's really the smartest?'"

that was a good burn, patrice.

and now a muppet news flash...

monica and i were watching muppets from space the other night and she almost cried laughing when pepe the prawn volunteers the use of his jello in aiding the rescue of gonzo.

i believe that is why i love her.

but enough of this sappy stuff.

silly grandpa!

i got an email from my dad about his future grandbaby's moniker.

"I was on line and looked up Liam. I can’t believe they named “MY” grandson HARD HEAD. Wil + Helm = strong willed!!!!!! (helmet head) Dad Ps. It really means strong protector."

But then what do you expect? I mean, the kid's dad wears a skirt.
