french assembly

a few months ago, i volunteered to help in the video department for a religious assembly.

the program was entirely in french and it was the first time that this foreign language group had used the assembly facilities.

since i helped install the equipment and i also have a background in live a/v support, i thought i would be of some aid in presenting the program.

when i got there, 2 guys were in the room running through the powering up stage with troy, the caretaker. both were looking very nervous.

it turned out that they had only been asked to help in the department 20 minutes prior to my arrival.

but we got through it.

the most difficult part for me was not knowing the cues from the speakers, of whom all but one gave their talks in french.

at the end of the day i placed my hand high above my head and requested a "high cinq" from the 2 other volunteers.

check out the pic of the caretakers, troy and stacy, below.

stacy, in keeping with the theme of the weekend, is saying "fromage!"
